Web-based product passport system
The Product Web Passport System is not just a tool for tracking each product unit. It is a comprehensive solution for production traceability, logistics, document management, warranty registration and service support.
A web passport connects a physical object with its digital page: from the receipt of raw materials, components and packaging materials to finished product release, logistics, delivery to the customer, warranty registration, claims processing and after-sales service.
Simple access without special applications
The web passport is not tied to any specific operating system, does not require special mobile applications and does not need complex equipment for basic use.
All the user needs is a smartphone, a camera and access to the Internet or the company’s corporate network. The QR code of the web passport can be scanned with a standard smartphone camera to instantly open the object’s digital page.
What objects can use a web passport
A web passport can be used not only for finished products, but also for various objects involved in production, warehouse, logistics and service processes:
- raw materials and materials;
- components;
- semi-finished products;
- finished products;
- containers and packaging;
- pallets and logistics units;
- storage locations;
- documents, delivery notes, acts and accompanying forms.
Two levels of access to the web passport
The system can operate with different levels of access to information.
The public level is available to any user who scans the QR code. On the web passport page, the user can view open information, verify the product, send a message through a feedback form, register a purchase, leave a review or perform another permitted action.
The corporate level is designed for company employees, dealers, service specialists, logistics teams and partners. Access to this level requires authorization on the platform using a personal login and password.
Depending on the user’s access rights, it is possible to view extended data, change statuses, record operations, add photos, documents and comments.
Web passport as a nested structure in production and logistics
For products, the web passport can work according to the principle of nested digital objects.
Each product unit receives an individual number, QR code and its own web passport. Then the product is placed into group packaging, which receives a separate logistics number and its own packaging web passport.
If necessary, the system stores the list of contents — which specific product units are located inside a particular box or transport package.
When packages are combined into a pallet, the pallet location also receives an individual number and a web passport of the logistics unit.
The pallet web passport can store information about its contents, route, status, responsible department, formation time, movements and accompanying documents.
When pallets are loaded into transport, they can be combined under the web passport of a document: delivery note, shipment act, route sheet or another accompanying document.
A QR code is printed on the paper form of the document. By scanning it, the user can quickly open the electronic form, check the details, view the shipment contents, change the status or report a problem.
For example, if a pallet is damaged, an employee can open its web passport, send a photo of the damage, add a comment and link the incident to a specific logistics unit, batch, document and responsible section of the supply chain.
A unified digital connection between objects
As a result, the web passport creates a convenient digital system for production, warehouse operations, logistics, document management, quality control, warranty and service.
The solution makes it possible to connect products, packaging, pallets, transport, documents, production batches, claims and service requests into a single digital environment.
The system can have configurable access levels and does not require specialized software for basic interaction with the object.
A web passport turns every object into an access point to information, history, statuses and actions.
